Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Ladies Nights are fun no matter what. Make it a Theme Night and you’ll kick up the fun a few dozen notches!
The themes below can be adapted to any Ladies Night, especially one that involves:
–Music & Singing
–Trivia
–Prizes
Following are ten themes that will bring your girlfriends back in time or to another place — along with suggestions of what to wear, party drinks, sing-alongs, trivia and prizes.
At the bottom of the page: General Ladies Night Music suggestions for when you have no particular theme!
———————————————————————-
Before we get into the themes…..
Pass the Gift Game— each theme below has suggestions for trivia, music and prizes.
Pass the Gift is a fun DIY game I created several years ago for a Ladies Night In at our house. It combines all three in a way that gets everyone together in one room, out of separate circles, singing, laughing and focused on fun!
The VERY best Ladies Nights happen when everyone is together and not in separate circles, rooms, conversations or friend groupings. This games prevents that!
After checking out the themes, visit the “Pass the Gift” Game Page:

Trivia Shortcut
Many of these themes below are according to an era. To make it easier, I use the trivia cards from my Blast from the Past game (available on Amazon)
The trivia is divided by the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s — making the work easy for you — just pick the decade accordingly!
Here it is on Amazon: Blast from the Past Game

Easy Drink Suggestion
For Ladies Nights, I always make my favorite alcoholic punch (vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice and cranberry juice) and give it a new name for every party theme.
This punch was named Christmas Cookie Punch as it was for our Cookie Swap.
I always make a non-alcoholic version as well (combine orange juice, cranberry juice & ginger ale) — Christmas Cookie Virgin Punch.
There are “theme punch” names suggested below, but feel free to use your own creativity!

Pop, Fizz, Clink!
I’ve also found that Prosecco in a punch bowl mixed with just about any juice (not just OJ) is perfect for Ladies Night.
It adds just the right amount of “bubbly” to make it fun and festive (also delicious)!
At right is my niece Liz at my daughter LeeAnn’s “Little Pumpkin Baby Shower” enjoying the signature cocktail:
“Apple of their Eye Mom-Osa” — Prosecco & Apple Cider with Sugar & Cinnamon Rim (perfect for a fall Ladies Night)!
It was certainly enjoyed by ladies of all ages (family friends Joan, Brenda & Barbara)!
Tonight’s Forecast: 99% Percent Chance of Bubbles!

Ladies Night with the British Invasion!
First British Invasion: A phenomenon that occurred in the mid-1960s when rock and pop music acts from the United Kingdom, as well as other aspects of British culture, became popular in the United States. Rock music groups like the Beatles, The Animals, The Dave Clark Five, The Kings, The Rolling Stones and the Who were at the forefront. Also: Dusty Springfield, Chad & Jeremy, Peter & Gordon, Manfred Mann, Petula Clark, Herman’s Hermits, The Troggs, Donovan, the Kinks, The Zombies
Second British Invasion: In the late 1970s and into the 80s, music from the United Kingdom became popular again, infused by the after effects of the punk/new wave revolution. “Sultans of Swing” by Dire Straights and “Roxanne” by The Police cracked the American Top 40, followed by chart successes of Elvis Costello, Sniff ‘n the Tears, The Pretenders, Gary Numan and Squeeze.
What to wear: Dress in 60s, 70s or 80s attire according to the music/era you are using; or have everyone get creative and make a “hat” to wear to the British Invasion party, channeling Diana, Kate and the royals or Downton Abbey
Party Drinks: Show off by creating a punch from the popular British “Pimms Cooler” cocktail, the drink to order at a Polo match (lemonade, lemon soda, ginger ale or ginger beer garnished with cucumber, mint leaves and fruit).
Or use your favorite punch recipe (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and call it “British Invasion Punch”.
Sing-alongs: See above groups and choose their most upbeat and well-known music
Trivia: Search the Internet for the most popular British Invasion songs. Name the song and have the ladies name the group, and then have them give a try at singing it a capella (as far as they can go.)

It’s almost that time of year again and I don’t mean the World Cup of Football. Instead it’s Velden in Austria which will take centre stage in Europe next month when Intertops Poker return to the ‘Monte Carlo of the Austrian Alps’ for the annual European Poker Championship festival, from July 18th to 29th.
PokerTube will be bringing you the best of the live action, and you can expect the Intertops Poker Team to be in the thick of the action once again! Three online qualifiers will be enjoying an Austrian summer poker extravaganza in the mountains, the beautiful lakeside Casino Velden hosting hundreds of hopefuls for the 12-day festival.
The Intertops Poker Team Pro Tim O’Keefe, who in a few days will take two lucky Intertops Poker online satellite qualifiers to Vegas for the WSOP’s Milli Maker, gives his view on Velden, Vegas and Intertops in an interesting chat with Rikard Aberg…
In Velden Six European Poker Championship titles will be up for grabs, with eleven excellent side-events and a ‘Cash Game Championship’ to keep everyone happy – with Rikard Aberg on hand to interview the hopefuls and, of course, the winners.
The Main Event
The €2,700 buy-in Main Event gets underway on 26th July, the festival itself kicking off on the 18th July and ending on the 29th July - a fitting finale to what has proved to be an extremely enjoyable stop for the Intertops men and women, the more so when they’ve won a package to the seasonal biggie.
Last year saw a field of 236 players battling it out for the big money, Switzerland’s Simon Boss walking off through the Alps with €120,000 from the €590,000 prizefund – Boss having performed the same feat two years previously! Twenty-six others ended up in the money, a minimum cash of €6,500 making it a very fruitful trip to Velden.
The Intertops Package
As with previous satellite winners through Intertops, the qualifiers for Velden will be well taken care of, the Intertops team putting together a fantastic package for last month’s lucky winners…
The Intertops Velden package is worth $6,500 and includes:
- €2,700 buy-in to the Main Event (July 26th to 29th)
- 5-night stay for two at a premium hotel close to the Casino Velden
- $500 to help with travel expenses
- Welcome Dinner with the Intertops crew
If you need any more convincing, have a watch and listen to Casino Velden’s poker manager Gerald Golker, chatting with Rikard Aberg about last year’s Poker EM, why Velden is such a good destination for players and how he managed, with some help from Leon Tsoukernik, to get 41 buy-ins into the €25,000 Highroller.
